The Atlanta Braves announced that pitcher Max Fried had been placed on the 10-day injury list with a right hamstring strain. Fried picked up the injury while running the bases after picking up a hit during his start on Tuesday. The former first-round pick hasn’t gotten off to his best start this season as he’s 0-1 with an 11.45 ERA AND 2.55 WHIP.
That’s a far cry from his performance last season when he went 7-0 with a 2.25 ERA and 1.09 WHIP.
It’s not clear at this moment who will take Fried’s spot in the rotation or whether they will use an opener from the bullpen to start the games.
