DailyFaceoff’s Frank Seravalli reports the Boston Bruins have announced that they agreed on a two-year extension with Jake DeBrusk.
The extension comes with an average annual value of $4 million. DeBrusk was set to become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights this summer. A qualifying offer for DeBrusk would’ve been $4.41 million, so this could make him a more attractive asset to other teams.
DeBrusk asked for a trade from the Bruins in November and reportedly said he would sign an extension to facilitate a deal. With the trade deadline fast approaching, this could be the first domino that signals that DeBrusk is on the move.
