The Toronto Blue Jays remain active this offseason and have now turned their attention to shoring up their bullpen. According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Toronto has signed free-agent relief pitcher David Phelps to a one-year deal worth $1.75 million. Passan also reports that Phelps can also earn an additional $750 million through performance bonuses. The right-hander became available after the Phillies opted to decline his club option at the end of last season after acquiring him in an August 31st deadline trade with the Brewers.
Toronto will hope Phelps can rekindle the form he had with Milwaukee. He went 2-3 in 12 appearances with a 2.
