It looks like the Chicago Blackhawks will not have Jonathan Toews back this year for their chase of the final playoff spot in the Central Division. TSN’s Darren Dreger reports it’s “likely” Toews misses the rest of the season but should be ready for 2021-22. The Blackhawks captain has not played in a game this season due to an undisclosed medical issue. There has been little in the way of updates on his condition since Toews released a statement in December describing his lack of strength and lethargy in the offseason.
There was hope the five-time All-Star would return this season, especially with the Hawks in a playoff race.
