Awkward: Karl-Anthony Towns’ Dad May Sue Timberwolves’ Mascot

So far no one has been able to explain why the North American Gray Wolf, or Timber Wolf, is the mascot of the Minnesota basketball franchise — since the wolf has been extinct in those parts since 1903. But there he is — Crunch — whose biography states quite plainly that he was born in the woods in Minnesota.

What else is Crunch lying about? For one thing, he injured the father of the team’s best player, and is being sued.

It happened on Jan. 26, when Crunch was performing his signature stunt — tobogganing down the arena stairs on a plastic sled (above).
