Astros’ Michael Brantley Placed on 10-Day IL

It looks like Michael Brantley will miss at least a few more games with right hamstring tightness. The Astros outfielder will be absent for his fourth-straight game on Friday night and hasn’t played since May 23rd against the Texas Rangers.

Brantley is having a typical Micahel Brantley type year hitting for average and making contact. The .297 career hitter is batting .305 with 3 HR, 15 RBI, and 25 runs in 41 games in 2021. Brantley has struck out just 22 times in 167 at-bats and has started 37 games in left field for Houston. If all goes well with the hammy, the Astros could activate the 34-year late next week.
