The Los Angeles Lakers announced Alex Caruso has been placed in the league’s concussion protocol and is expected to miss playing time.
Caruso suffered the concussion during Friday’s 105-100 win against the Indiana Pacers. He played seven minutes, scoring four points, two rebounds and one assist before exiting the game.
A bench player for the Lakers, Caruso has played 30 games this season, averaging 19 minutes, five points, three rebounds and two assists per game. In his absence, expect Wesley Matthews to see additional minutes and production. Matthews, a 12-year veteran, has played 31 games for the Lakers this season, averaging 20 minutes, four points, one rebound and one assist per game.
