TCU head coach Gary Patterson is much like his contemporaries: passionate, full of idiosyncrasies and just quirky enough to manage a group of 100 college-aged He-Men without teetering over the edge to insanity. High-level college football coaches are unique beasts who require a peculiar skill-set, which makes them unlike most people on this planet, for good and ill. Patterson fits that mold, except he’s not exactly one-of-a-kind, at least as far as fictional characters are also concerned.
Many have already pointed it out, but Patterson bears more than a passing resemblance to Matt Foley, Chris Farley’s iconic “Saturday Night Live” character.
