WrestleMania is now just four days away and it’s interesting to think what might have been. For countless reasons, matches get changed every single year. At WrestleMania VIII, the main event was originally supposed to be Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan. When WWE tested that match at house shows, they evidently didn’t draw very well, so it was switched to Hulk Hogan vs. Sid Justice and Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage. Before Shawn Michaels “lost his smile”, the main event of WrestleMania 13 was supposed to be a WrestleMania 12 rematch between Michaels and Bret Hart. Years later, at different times, the Undertaker was scheduled to fight Vince McMahon, Abyss, and Wade Barrett at WrestleMania.
