This Saturday No. 20 Mississippi State will go for its first win against No. 3 Alabama since 2007, when Bulldogs CB Anthony Johnson played hero.
The tide of their November matchup turned when, trailing 9-3, Johnson picked off ‘Bama QB John Parker Wilson and took it back 103 yards the other way for a touchdown.
Mississippi State scored another touchdown and held Alabama to just one more field goal, defeating the Tide, 17-12. It was the second of a four-game losing streak that marked Nick Saban’s rocky first season in Tuscaloosa.
But Saban has not lost to the Bulldogs since and will look to make it eight in a row in Starkville.
