Black stand-up comedian Jay Whittaker had a “wonderful night” despite a “horrible person” — a reportedly drunk woman who shouted a racist heckle at him during his comedy set at Wiseguys on Saturday night.
Whittaker, who is also an actor and an Air Force veteran, moved to Salt Lake City with his 10-year-old boy. He’s from California, but came to Utah when he was posted to Hill Air Force Base.
A Sunday social media post from the comedian told the story of Saturday night’s racist incident at the West Jordan club.
“I handled it the best I could,” he wrote.
