Northern Utah's skiers can rejoice and drivers can breathe easy — at least on Friday — as an ongoing winter storm dumps snow in the mountains, with rain in the cities this weekend.
As of Friday morning, 20 inches of fresh snow had fallen at the crest of Brighton, with 16 inches at Snowbasin and Alta, 14 inches at Snowbird, and 11 inches at Powder Mountain, Canyons Village and Solitude, the National Weather Service reported.
Friday called for a short break in the precipitation that covered the state Thursday, but expect more tonight, the NWS reported.
