Utah Gov. Gary Herbert will address the Legislature in the chamber of the House of Representatives on Wednesday evening, delivering his annual State of the State address.
Herbert is expected to address his budget recommendations for the year, including reforms to the state’s sales tax structure and a potential tax cut of more than $200 million.
The address comes after a busy three days of the 2019 legislative session, during which the Senate has acted swiftly to begin to replace a voter-approved Medicaid expansion initiative with a more restrictive — and initially more costly — program of their own design.
