Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham expects more from offense this week, partly because a lot of points will be required.
“You're not going to beat Washington State 21-17,” Whittingham said Monday, during his weekly news conference.
The Utes (2-1) were off last weekend, after the offense produced a total of 17 points in a win over Northern Illinois and a loss to No. 11 Washington. Utah’s remaining schedule of eight Pac-12 games starts with Saturday’s visit to Washington State.
The program's self-study during the bye week, Whittingham said, resulted in an obvious conclusion: The passing game needs improvement.
