Pebble Beach, Calif. • West High product Tony Finau’s streak of making the cut at major golf championships will likely come to an end.
Finau, the Lehi resident shot a 1-over-par 72 on Friday in the second round of the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links and stands at 4-over par through 36 holes.
Unless the wind picks up in the afternoon, the cut will probably come at 1- or 2-over, meaning Finau won’t make the cut at a major for the first time since the 2016 PGA Championship.
“It was just not my week,” Finau said, having shot a 3-over 74 in Thursday’s opening round.
