The candidates vying to represent Utah’s 3rd Congressional District will face off in a debate Tuesday night at Utah Valley University, where voters will hear from two vastly different candidates who remain split on issues ranging from public lands to the president and reproductive health rights.
Republican Rep. John Curtis has been seemingly nonstop campaigning since before he took over former Rep. Jason Chaffetz’s seat in last year’s special election and is seeking his first full term in Congress. His challenger is Democrat James Singer, a sociology professor, a Navajo and a millennial who says he’d bring perspectives sorely missing on Capitol Hill.
