Utah Royals pick up Portland player to replace injured Lytle

The Utah Royals have made a roster move that addresses the need to replace an injured player.

The Royals on Monday acquired striker Mallory Weber off the National Women’s Soccer League’s waiver wire, the club announced. Weber is formerly of the Portland Thorns. She will be with the Royals for the remainder of the 2019 season. She played in 44 games and scored one goal with Portland. She was traded there in 2016.

In addition, Utah announced that Taylor Lytle has been placed on the season-ending injury list. She suffered a foot injury before the season started and has been seen in a cast ever since.
