Utah Royals lose 2-0 to the visiting Seattle Reign

Sandy • The Utah Royals FC lost 2-0 to the Seattle Reign on Friday at Rio Tinto Stadium. The Reign and Royals now have 17 points apiece, but Utah is ahead in the standings with one more win.

Utah could not get much going forward throughout the entire game and struggled at the defensive end. The two goals it gave up to Seattle came five minutes apart in the first half. Save for one opportunity from the 6-yard box, the Royals weren’t much of a threat offensively.

The Reign, however, were quite the opposite. In the 30th minute, Seattle midfielder Jessica Fishlock scored to give the Reign a 1-0 lead over the Royals.
