Rio Tinto Stadium will be home to the United States men’s national team once more, with a friendly against Venezuela slated to take place at Rio Tinto Stadium on June 3, according to a report from ESPNFC.
The report specifies that Rio Tinto Stadium was selected for being high-altitude, which would serve to boost preparations ahead of a June 11 World Cup Qualifier in Mexico City.
The last U.S. match at Rio Tinto Stadium came in October last year when the U.S. women’s national team beat Switzerland 4-0. In October 2015, two U.S. U-23 matches took place as part of Olympic qualifiers.
