The U.S. National Team played its first competitive match since Nov. 19, 2019 on Thursday evening, and while a young lineup from Head Coach Gregg Berhalter struggled to find a rhythm throughout the match, a diving header from Jordan Siebatcheu proved to be the difference in a 1-0 win over Honduras in the Nations League semifinals.
The U.S. will advance to face Mexico in the Nations League final on Sunday after Mexico bested Costa Rica in a penalty kick shootout in the second match at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.
The U.S. roster featured the likes of Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna, Weston McKennie, Sergiño Dest and Zach Steffen, among others, as Berhalter looks to build some momentum heading into the Gold Cup and World Cup Qualifying later this year.
