Utah's governor has appointed two men to replace two women who recently moved out of state and resigned from the Utah State Board of Education.
Gov. Gary Herbert appointed Michael Haynes to replace Lisa Cummins as the representative from District 11, which includes South Jordan, Herriman, Riverton and Bluffdale, and extends into western Utah County.
Mark Marsh was appointed to replace Alisa Allis in representing District 12, which includes all of eastern Utah, from Coalville and Heber City to the Colorado boarder.
Voters typically elect members of the board. Haynes' and Marsh's terms will expire at the end of 2020.
