Several employees at the University of Utah knew that the man was harassing and extorting — even abusing and sexually assaulting — track star Lauren McCluskey, according to attorneys representing McCluskey’s parents in a lawsuit against the school. And university employees had several opportunities to step in and stop it, the attorneys assert.
In a filing submitted early Monday, they allege university staff had the power to remove him from campus, call his parole officer, arrest him for any of the felony-level crimes McCluskey and her friends were alleging or, at the very least, help her get a protective order.
