A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck and shoulder during a burglary at his Draper home Tuesday morning, police say.
Officers were dispatched to the house, near 1700 East and Pioneer Road, about 5:30 a.m. on a report of a burglary in progress, Sgt. Chad Carpenter said in a news conference broadcast on Facebook Live by KUTV. While police were in route, the situation was updated to a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they met the teen’s father outside the residence, who told them that someone had broken into the house and got into an altercation with him and his son, at which point the boy was stabbed inside the home.
