Washington • Sen. Orrin Hatch is asking his Senate colleagues to sign a letter urging Attorney General Jeff Sessions to halt any more family separations at the U.S.-Mexico border until Congress can pass legislation dealing with the issue.
Hatch plans to send the letter to the Justice Department on Tuesday after he’s had a chance to get other senators to sign up, his office said.
The Utah Republican is seeking Republican and Democratic colleagues to join the effort to end the Trump administration’s policy to separate adults from their children when crossing the border without documentation.
