Sandy • With his new head coach on board, Real Salt Lake general manager Craig Waibel can start working on other parts of his checklist. Most specifically, the sudden lack of depth up front after back-up striker Chad Barrett tweeted earlier this week that his knee injury was going to require surgery that would force him to miss most of the 2017 season.
On Friday morning, Barrett posted a photo on his Instagram page saying the surgery was a success. Barrett described the injury as a chondral defect in his left knee, before adding, "it's the opposite of a good time.
