The roster moves continue for Real Salt Lake.
The club on Thursday announced it traded defender Abdoulie Mansally to the Houston Dynamo in exchange for a conditional third-round pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. The 27-year-old Gambian international spent the last four seasons at RSL, primarily as a left back along the back line.
General manager Craig Waibel told the Tribune Thursday that re-acquiring Chris Wingert two weeks ago would've reduced Manually's minutes in the RSL defense in 2016.
"We felt like [acquiring Wingert] would limit Abdoulie's time on the field, and at his age and what he's meant to the organization, we didn't think it was fair to knock his playing time down and ask him to be the same type of person on and off the field," Waibel said.
