Real Salt Lake’s forward depth just got a little bit stronger, with the club announcing today the signing of Douglas Martinez from Real Monarchs.
Martinez, 22, joined Real Monarchs before the 2019 USL season, where he made a name for himself as a prolific goalscorer and workhorse among Monarch’s attacking ranks. He has scored 10 goals in 16 games and is ranked second on the team for shots on goal, behind Maikel Chang.
Martinez will occupy an international roster spot for the club.
In a club-issued press release, RSL general manager Craig Waibel said Martinez displayed skill and professionalism during his time at Real Monarchs.
