Real Salt Lake drafted Ghanian midfielder Amass Amankona out of the University of Dayton with its third-round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft Tuesday afternoon. The club followed up that selection by drafting Creighton goalkeeper Connor Sparrow with the 65th pick in the fourth round. With the following pick, RSL opted to pass with its final pick of the draft at No. 66.
Rounds 3 and 4 of the draft were conducted via conference call with league officials.
Amankona, a 5-foot-7 offensive midfielder at Dayton, led the Flyers in goals scored in 2015 with 13.
