On Saturday, Real Salt Lake concluded its first preseason trip of 2019 in Los Angeles with a scrimmage against the Pateadores U-19 squad. After four rigorous days and six training sessions on the UCLA campus, the scrimmage was a welcome change of pace and an energized RSL side scored three goals while conceding none.
The scrimmage was split into three 30-minute periods, with Head Coach Mike Petke integrating players throughout the different lineups.
After a scoreless first period, Tate Schmitt scored early in the second period, bringing down a ball from the left side before thumping a shot from the edge of the 18 that found the net.
