According to a report published in The Athletic today, Real Salt Lake has agreed a pre-contract deal with U.S. international striker Bobby Wood.
That deal, according to the report, will see him join RSL from Hamburg following the expiration of Wood’s contract in June.
Wood has been a regular fixture for Hamburg, but as the report states, their drop to 2. Bundesliga plays a role in not renewing a deal with the forward.
While not a consistent goalscorer in the top German division, Wood was a prolific scorer in the second division, with the 2015-16 season seeing him score 17 goals for Union Berlin — a season in which Damir Kreilach scored 12 goals for the same club.
