Albert Rusnak is set to extend his stay at Real Salt Lake, according to a report from commentator Stu Holden.
Rusnak, the report states, will be RSL’s highest paid designated player in the team’s history.
Interestingly, Holden indicated that Rusnak pulled out of training yesterday. Reports prior to the match tonight indicated that Rusnak hadn't made RSL’s starting lineup for “personal reasons,” and Holden indicated that was potentially down to contract disputes.
The deal being done will serve RSL in the longer term, though one might rightly be alarmed that contract negotiations involved a match with significant playoff implications.
