SANDY, Utah (Wednesday, January 3, 2018) – Real Salt Lake General Manager Craig Waibel announced on Wednesday that the club has signed FW Alfredo Ortuño ahead of the 2018 season. He will join the club in preseason, pending receipt of his ITC and visa. RSL used Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) in the signing.
“I’m very happy to be signing with Real Salt Lake and very excited to live in America,” Ortuño said. “It’s a great opportunity for me to continue to grow as a player in a challenging environment.”
Ortuño, 26, already has a lengthy career in Spain’s first and second divisions, most recently playing with Cádiz CF in La Liga 2, where he scored 17 goals in 40 appearances in the 2016/17 season.
