SANDY, Utah (Friday, March 31, 2017) – Real Monarchs SLC (1-0-0, t-2 West) kick off the home portion of its third USL season at Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday at 4:00 p.m. MT against regional rival Phoenix Rising FC (0-1-0, t-3 West). Saturday’s contest is the club’s first under new Head Coach Mark Briggs, promoted following Wednesday’s naming of Mike Petke as Real Salt Lake’s new boss.
Saturday’s game features the Rio Tinto Stadium return of MF Sebastian Velasquez, a former RSL draft pick and standout in 2013/14 prior to his New York City FC career in 2015 and last season’s Rayo OKC stint in the NASL.
