Real Salt Lake midfielder Omar Holness is remaining a Generation Adidas player through 2017, Major League Soccer announced today.
As a result, he’ll remain unavailable for selection in the upcoming MLS Expansion Draft — which is a good thing, really, because in the short minutes he was given, Holness looked a cut above most MLS rookies.
Of course, you can’t talk about Holness without recognizing how his season was rocked by a seizure he suffered on the field in a Real Monarchs game — it kept him out for a three-month period and was truly one of the scariest moments sport can produce.
