In case you weren’t paying attention, Nick Rimando has proven one of the more consistent goalkeepers in American soccer history, and for that, he’s been given yet another call-up to the U.S. Men’s National team for World Cup Qualifiers.
Despite not having the mass of caps that, say, Tim Howard has, Rimando’s continued call-ups place him firmly as the third-choice goalkeeper under Jurgen Klinsmann and now Bruce Arena.
The U.S. hosts Costa Rica on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Mountain at Red Bull Arena, then travels to Honduras on Sept. 5. Rimando’s not slated to miss any RSL minutes during that time.
