For the second year in a row, the most popular baby names in Utah were male-female versions of the same moniker — which bucked the 2017 national trends a bit.
New parents in the Beehive State lifted Oliver and Olivia to the top of the Utah list, just as they did in 2016, according to the Social Security Administration.
That means in just a few years Utah teachers will have to differentiate between multiple Olivers and Olivias in kindergarten classes across the state — Oliver vs. Ollie? Olivia vs. Livie?
The popularity of Oliver in Utah goes somewhat against the national numbers.
