Monarchs Extend Unbeaten Streak to Five Matches

Sandy, Utah (Saturday, September 3, 2016) – Real Monarchs saw a three-game winning streak come to an end, but remained unbeaten in the last five matches with a 1-1 draw against the Tulsa Roughnecks at Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday night. Tulsa got out to an early lead on a 14^th minute goal by Christian Mata, but a remarkable strike from Ricardo Velazco equalized the match in the 37^th minute. Velazco would have a pair of near-misses in the 68^th minute, hitting a left-footed shot off the upright and on the return ball from the left side pushing a header just beyond the opposite post.
