Friday marks the start of the sixth edition of the MLS Re-Entry Draft, with Stage One starting via conference call with representatives from each team around the league at 1 p.m. MT. There are several intriguing names on the list of available players, but as we’ve seen in previous years, the first stage is typically very quiet.
In the five previous editions of the Re-Entry Draft – designed as a method of distributing players around the league whose options were declined by their previous teams – 14 total players were selected in the first stage when selecting teams must pick up the option of the player.
