Crews were called to the home, near 3700 West and Valley Heights Drive (about 5000 South), about 2:15 a.m., Unified Fire Authority spokesman Eric Holmes said. When they arrived, firefighters saw the house and a vehicle were on fire.
Medics treated a man who was found injured in the fire, but he died, Holmes said. His name has not been released.
Investigators aren’t sure how the fire began or if it started in the home and spread to the vehicle, or vice versa, Holmes said.
