Utah didn’t altogether grind to a halt on Monday morning, but it certainly slowed down as a major snowstorm struck. Winter warnings were in effect from Logan to Cedar City as heavy snow was dumped in the valleys — and heavier snow still in the mountains.
The Utah Highway Patrol — dealing with dozens of accidents across the state — advised motorists to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Eastbound I-80 at Parley’s Canyon was closed because UDOT crews were having trouble keeping up with all the snow; it was re-opened by mid-morning. And westbound I-84 was closed in Weber Canyon near Mountain Green after a semi-truck rolled over.
