The recent commentary by Joanne Slotnik was a well-reasoned and compelling request for Mitt Romney to support trial rules that ensure all relevant facts are presented at the Senate’s upcoming impeachment trial. The same request for impartiality and complete testimony should also be directed to Sen. Mike Lee, as both senators will take an impeachment oath as proceedings begin.
Now is our last chance to compel Senate leadership to conduct a full and impartial impeachment trial in compliance with constitutional provisions. Though 67 Senate votes are required to impeach, a 51-vote majority of senators can determine requirements for rules and conduct of the trial.
