Terry Wayman’s piece about gun control is so flawed, I’m not sure where to begin, but here goes: Yes, these shootings are human problems — humans with guns. Why is it necessary to own semi-automatic weapons with high-capacity magazines? They’re not made for hunting, and if one wants to have fun shooting, perhaps the gun clubs and ranges could rent them. And to make an analogy with cars is hardly comparable: To operate a vehicle requires passing a proficiency test to obtain a license as well as registering the car … which would be great to make the same requirement for gun owners.
