I have a question that no one, including the media, seems to want to answer. I’ll keep it as simple as possible. What would you say if a prominent developer purchased a bunch of homes in an upscale neighborhood and razed them all at a cost of millions of dollars, then, and only then, went to city officials and asked for and got a zoning change in order to build high-density apartments?
The logical question is why would any business-savvy developer make such a monumental investment without prior assurances from elected officials that his project would be approved, in spite of significant public opposition?
