Recently some parents of a student at Pioneer Elementary in West Valley City didn’t realize how close their child came to being run over by a car and not coming home.
A car was parked over the sidewalk. A young child walking down the sidewalk had to walk around the front of the car into the drop-off zone. As the small child stepped into the area, a car entered and neither could see each other because of the parked car.
The child missed stepping in front of the car by seconds and, fortunately, was not mangled by the moving car.
