Jordan Allen subbed in first half of Real Monarchs win for apparent injury

Jordan Allen’s road to recovery from an injury suffered in only the second match of the season might be a little longer yet, after the winger suffered an apparent injury in Saturday’s Real Monarchs match.

Contact in the 41st minute, when Allen went to ground to protect a ball, saw him down for an extended period. A trainer did come on and attend to him, and he was seen grabbing the back of his thigh. We’re not really in the business of diagnosing injuries, so there won’t be any of that here.

Allen didn’t return to the match after walking off the pitch, but he did walk off under his own power and without too much trouble, so here’s hoping this was merely a cautionary substitution from Monarchs coach Mark Briggs.
