A fundraising campaign for three new homeless resource centers in Salt Lake County received a $1 million donation from Intermountain Healthcare, according to a Wednesday announcement by Shelter the Homeless.
“Intermountain’s goal of helping people to live the healthiest lives possible extends to everyone,” Mikelle Moore, Intermountain’s senior vice president of community health, said in a prepared statement. “We hope to support community organizations that improve prevention, detection, and management of chronic diseases, including those experiencing homelessness that will be served by the partners of Shelter the Homeless, who are even more vulnerable to these conditions.”
According to Shelter the Homeless, which owns the three shelter properties, donations toward the Home4Change campaign now total $4 million from individuals, businesses and foundations.
