Inland Port June meeting erupts in protest, dozens ejected by officers

Chaos erupted at the Inland Port Authority Board’s monthly meeting on Wednesday, where nearly a dozen armed Utah Highway Patrol officers forcefully remove protesters opposed to the project from the Capitol meeting room and one environmental activist was ultimately arrested.

It happened in the first few minutes of the first meeting since the board’s last one was shut down by activists in April.

Bodies flailed and shouts erupted soon after the activists, wearing surgical masks with black X’s, were escorted out of the meeting in violation of the board’s rules of decorum.
