Real Salt Lake forward Yura Movsisyan was remarkable in leading RSL’s charge back from an early deficit to earn a 2-1 win over the Colorado Rapids on Friday to clinch the Rocky Mountain Cup and vault into second place in the Western Conference.
The second of his two goals earned a nomination for MLSsoccer.com’s Goal of the Week.
With the match tied at 1-1 at halftime, RSL came out hot to start the second half. All three forwards figured into the scoring, as Juan Manuel Martinez led Joao Plata up the left side on a give-and-go. After taking two touches with his right, Plata skipped the ball to Movsisyan at the edge of the 18 with his left.
