Real Salt Lake has officially used the extreme hardship call-up rule to bring forward two USL players for the first time, calling Real Monarchs' Andrew Brody and Emilio Orozco for Saturday's match against Sporting Kansas City.
Orozco, who plays in central defense for Real Monarchs, comes in as the only central defender slated for the bench, save for the multi-talented rookie Danilo Acosta.
Brody is a wide attacking player who played for Real Salt Lake's Arizona academy before playing several years for Louisville. He's played only one match for the Monarchs, but given he impressed during that time, his call-up isn't particularly surprising — especially because he trained with RSL this week.
