Sophomore forward Donnie Tillman nearly delivered a triple double in just 17 minutes of action Thursday night as the Runnin' Utes rolled to a 98-63 victory over Mississippi Valley State at the Huntsman Center.
Tillman stayed on the bench for the game's last 16 minutes, having posted 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. His previous career high was three assists.
Senior guard Parker Van Dyke led the Utes (2-1) with 16 points. Timmy Allen added 13 points and Riley Battin and Charles Jones Jr. had 12 each.
Utah's 17 3-pointers tied a school record, set in 2002 against UNLV.
